We recently completed a Granny Flat for one of our clients and we think it looks great! As does our client! And what a treat it was to work on this small renovation, and the results speak for themselves.
Brief: This 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom Granny Flat is used for overseas visitors of varying ages staying for long periods of time. We needed to create a defined living and dining space as well as modernise with cost effective finishes.
Our vision: Create multi-use spaces by reconfiguring the floor plan to relocate the living space and include bi-fold doors to enable it to be closed off as a bedroom (creating 3 bedrooms) and combine the separate Laundry and Bathroom into one large, bright and airy space.
What we did: Existing timber floors remained whilst the Kitchen had a repaint with new lighting, cabinetry handles, basin and tap ware. The stone bench tops stayed. In the bathroom we created a point of interest with the feature floor tiles, pairing back to a simple white cost effective wall tile. Black accessories created the contrast beautifully against the white tiles.
Result: From a dull space heavy with dark timber, the space has been transformed into a bright, light and welcoming space with designated areas to live, wash, eat and sleep with a luxe feel on a budget!
