In 2021 Ambassadors Holly & Dawn hosted their first of Spring Fling fundraising event at Mr & Mrs G’s on Brisbane’s riverfront. Through the generosity of all those who attended we were able to raise an incredible $22,000 for Open Haven!

We are hosting a Spring Gala Charity Ball on Friday 7th October 2022 at the prestigious Waters Edge venue in Portside Hamilton. 100% ticket proceeds go to Open Haven to help our communities’ women & children who are affected by DV and need our support.

Families that need your support...
Doris is a grandmother who experienced extreme domestic violence from her own son. She is looking after her son’s 8 year old daughter. Both parents are in jail. Lisa now has full custody of her granddaughter. She needs help getting a Blue card to get custody of her son’s 1 year old child who is in foster care. Both children come from a domestic violence abuse household. Doris needs help to find part-time work.
Anna experienced extreme violence and suffers high anxiety. She comes to Open Haven for emotional and practical support after experiencing domestic violence abuse. Anna wants to learn to drive and gain a driving licence. Help provide funds for her driving lessons and get her driver’s licence.
Olivia experienced severe trauma that she could hardly speak. She was very isolated with only a few friends and barely spoke English. Help fund her English and literacy lessons and driving lessons. She also needs help with DVO breach reports and finalise her divorce.
Patricia came to Open Haven trembling with fear and couldn’t speak. She couldn’t get any funding from Centrelink or help with housing or funds for childcare. From a very traumatic relationship, she had to go into hiding. She wants to study a course in Tafe and work in the hospitality industry. She needs help with legal battles with her ex-husband for child custody.
